The Terms and Conditions for KeepMyDomains.com.

Last Updated: 2024-09-21

Welcome to KeepMyDomains.com (“the Platform”). By accessing and using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms”). Please read these carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

1. Description of Services

KeepMyDomains.com provides a platform for users to input their domain names and receive notifications via email or Pushover regarding their domain expiry dates. The Platform queries domain expiry information using the WhoisXML API but does not offer domain registration, renewal, or purchasing services. Users are responsible for maintaining the renewal of their domains with their respective registrars.

2. User Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: You are responsible for providing accurate domain names and keeping your contact information, including email and Pushover API/user keys, up to date.
  • Verification of Expiry Dates: The Platform queries the WhoisXML API for domain expiry information, but users are strongly recommended to verify the expiry dates provided, particularly for unusual top-level domains (TLDs), where the Platform may prompt users to manually input the expiration date.
  • Manual Input of Expiry Dates: In cases where the WhoisXML API cannot retrieve the expiration date (e.g., for certain TLDs), you may be required to manually enter this information. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of manually entered dates.
  • Notification System: While the Platform endeavors to send notifications about upcoming domain expirations, the responsibility for renewing domains lies solely with you. Users are advised to renew domains well in advance of the expiry date and not to rely solely on the Platform’s notifications.

3. Plans and Subscriptions

The Platform offers three subscription tiers:

  • Starter Plan: Users may add a limited number of domains and receive one alert per notification channel (email or Pushover) per domain.
  • Developer Plan: Users may add more domains and receive up to three alerts per notification channel per domain.
  • Business Plan: Users may add the most domains and receive up to three alerts per notification channel per domain.

Subscription fees and limits are available on the Platform’s pricing page. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fees and abide by the limits on the number of domains and notifications per your plan.

  • Plan Downgrade: If you choose to downgrade your plan or fail to pay the applicable subscription fees, your account will automatically revert to the Starter Plan. If the number of domains in your account exceeds the domain limit for the Starter Plan, you will not receive notifications for certain domains. The Platform will prioritize notifications for domains based on the order in which they were added, but it is your responsibility to manage your domain list within the plan’s limits.
  • Non-Payment: In the event of non-payment, the Platform reserves the right to restrict your access to features associated with your plan, including limiting the number of domains and notifications. Failure to resolve payment issues may result in the suspension of your account.

4. Limitation of Liability

  • Notification Delivery: The Platform does not guarantee that notifications will be successfully delivered. Users accept that there are multiple points of failure beyond the Platform’s control, including but not limited to:
    • Platform downtime
    • Incorrect Pushover API or user keys provided by the user
    • Failures of the email delivery service (Resend)
    • Emails marked as junk or spam and not seen by the user
  • No Liability for Missed Renewals: KeepMyDomains.com provides notifications as a convenience. It is your responsibility to ensure domains are renewed before their expiry dates. The Platform disclaims all liability for any losses or damages resulting from a domain’s failure to renew, including financial losses, loss of business, or domain squatting.

5. Third-Party Services

KeepMyDomains.com relies on third-party providers to deliver its services:

  • Whois Lookup: WhoisXML API
  • Email Delivery: Resend
  • Authentication: NextAuth
  • Database: Neon
  • Payments: Stripe

These third-party services are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. KeepMyDomains.com is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of services provided by these third parties. Users acknowledge that failures of these third-party services may affect the Platform’s ability to deliver notifications or access data.

6. Payment and Billing

Payments for subscription plans are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe’s terms and conditions. All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise specified. Subscription fees are billed in advance, and failure to process payment may result in suspension of your account or access to paid features.

7. User Data and Privacy

  • Personal Information: To use the Platform, you may be required to provide personal information such as your email address and, optionally, Pushover API and user keys for notifications.
  • No Data Sharing: KeepMyDomains.com does not share your personal information, including domain names and Pushover keys, with other users.
  • Data Retention: Your data, including domain information, will be retained for the duration of your subscription or as required to provide the services.

For further details on how we handle your data, please refer to our separate Privacy Policy.

8. Termination and Suspension

KeepMyDomains.com reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms or non-payment of subscription fees. In the event of termination, you will no longer have access to your domains or notifications on the Platform.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or for legal or regulatory reasons. You will be notified of any significant changes through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
